Elite Veteran Posts: 1119	I think it depends a lot on the individual horse. The horse in my profile pic was 2 years old in that picture and was already completely filled out, he was all cow bred. My race bred mare is going to be 8 in the spring and she is just finally starting to fill out a little bit.

Member Posts: 36	I have one of each. A 2 year old that's thick but short and a race bred 5 yr old thats all legs but not wide at all. It makes me paranoid that the 2 year old is the thicker one.

Neat Freak Posts: 11216 Location: Wonderful Wyoming	My stallion seemed to sire babies that were about as tall as they were going to get at the age of 4 and wouldn't finish maturing until 6-7ish. They just got better and better. We don't feed them up either, who knows, if we poured the food to them they may have been done at 3.

Money Eating Baggage Owner Posts: 9586 Location: Phoenix	The colts we raised (King Fritz, Sundance Jet...those old type of bloodlines) matured really late. Like 5 and 7. Whenever I see fully developed 2&3 year olds my mind is blown.
