High fives for winter running!!!
I like tighter pants - preferably under armour COLD GEAR as they STAY up on my booty when I run, they're not super low cut, and can we say stretchy AND warm??!
I layer shirts - doesn't matter for the most part, but I encourage ya to use a wicking layer next to your skin as it will pull the moisture and sweat away without making you cold in the wind. Then layer cotton or other natural fibers
(wool
) on top of that. Make sense? And as you warm up, you can take a layer off and tie it around your waist if needed.
Socks - stick to your favorite. Your feet will swell and expand when you run so whatever you're already comfy in, I wouldn't change. If needed however, look for wool or wool blend socks in the running department. They are there and will have a little extra cushion for running.
Same goes for shoes as with socks. I wouldn't change 'em unless it was absolutely necessary.
Headbands - BOLDER BANDS! My favorite by far and away from the incredible amount of headbands I have amassed over the years. They come in GREAT colors and patterns. AND - they make one style specificaly for winter that will cover your ears. They stay put, don't leave indents, and feel freakin' awesome. Check 'em out - www.bbolder.com
Good Luck!!

I wear any under armor as first layer...its all moisture wicking.
Next layer is fleece and walmart has the best cheapest spandex polar fleece right now. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
My third layer depends on the weather. Light or heavy under armor jacket both are wind and rain resistant
Socks- under armor or the cold temp kind off amazon...I have both and the under armor are actually cheaper and do the same job. If i run in regular haynes or non-mosture wicking socks my feet get cold after mile 3 and i can't feel my toes.
Head gear- I like the balaclava for winter running. You'll get sweaty with it yeah but it keeps the wind off my face and i can pull it up over my mouth and nose to warm the air before i breathe it. On warmer days I'll put on my lined under armor boggin. I'm not a head band fan they just get on my nerves for some reason
gloves- under armor all the way...
I finally bit the bullet and bought under armor gear and its a world of difference in staying comfortable and not dreading the cold.

I don't get fancy. I wear a good pair of socks, shorts, a hoodie and a beanie.
