GLP - 2014-12-19 5:25 AM [quote]Bugs alive! I had a son (BA75/Ichibon)that didn't know the word quit. He hated getting in trouble. Very sensitive and loving. He wasn't a brush horse really, but would work for me anyway all day long. It didn't matter what we did, trairoding, barrels or working cows, he was up for it. Love and miss my boy.

Absolutely!!....sad that bloodline is getting harder to find...

My husband's old rope horse is BA75, and he is what made me fall in love with the line. I searched and searched for granddaughters and was able to find a couple. Now I have 3 great granddaughters and two great grandsons and I'm so excited for them. Our old guy was the type that gave 110% whether he was doing a job or walking down the rode. He wasn't the most laid back, but I think that was because of how he was broke. All of my grand and great grand get have been very friendly and good minded. My 6 year old is the kind that I can make a run then toss my son in the saddle and let him ride her to cool her out. Mine are all still young, but I'm impressed with them so far. Definitely one of my favorite lines.

I have a daughter of Reckless Dash out of a nice producing daughter of Bugs Alive in 75. That makes her a DFC and BA75 granddaughter. She is SUPER talented, athletic, hunts a barrel. I absolutely love her weanling filly by first down french. Her only fault in my opinion is she does not eat well on the road. I pretty much need to plan for her to live on alfalfa when we are away from home because it doesn't take much for her to get off her feed.

I really like my Strawflyin Buds daughter. She's out of a Rare Form mare. She is the most talented horse I've ever been on. I've never almost flown off the back of a horse before running home and she's almost left me like that, haha. She's more honest than my RD mare and more mentally chilled out as far as hauling goes. She never goes off feed when we are away from home.

Our Rare Bar X The Ole Man daughter is a barrel hunting/turning fool. You can't push her past a barrel. She's a cool mare. She's won close to $30,000 running barrels.

I think if the Beduino is crossed right it's not as bad. I have one and he's a Beduino dud according to the vet.

Β They don't come more honest and big-heartedΒ than my Three Ohs x BA75 gelding.
I've never had one bred like him, so don't know if he's just a freak of nature, but I would take them all if they wereΒ anything like him!

I second that!! I have several of Three Ohs grandsons and bugs alive granddaughters. Cannot beat them. I miss my own son of Three Ohs what a horse no quit, no soundness issues, awesome disposition I could go on and on.

I think any horse that has been on the track with more than 5 starts and a win record is a worker.  There are many reasons a horse may have 1 or 2 starts, some not their fault, but I bet more often than not, they can't perform, can't take the pressure, are slow, etc.

Mine off the track has a great work ethic, he's a son of Oak Tree Special.  He raced and won over 3 years - 12 starts total.  You know a horse like that can handle training, performing, etc.

total performance - 2014-12-19 7:01 AM  We have a colt in training for our very own BB Jenbabe...this colt is the quietest, best minded boy.  He's by Desirio and out of a Vital Sign mare.
His dam is also a granddaughter of BA75. He is my first experience with Strawfly Special and Sixarun, but we've had quite a few BA75 and The Signature and they've all had good minds. I've been very impressed with this colt so far and very excited to see what he can do, and hopefully see what he can produce in the future!

This colt has a very nice work ethic.  We've only had him for about 3 weeks and babies that have been broke and galloping for 60+ days are acting worse than he is.  Ducking, diving, bucking.  This colt gallops with them, and he never bats an eye at their shenanigans.  You are going to have an awesome horse when it's all said and done.

I've had several BA75...own sons and out of own daughters too...plus, I LOVE Sixarun and Strawfly Special...yes, you will have a really nice horse when he's made...

I want to put in a plug for Flit Bar anything...I've had Flit Bar Beggars, Vans Flit Bar etc, and now I have  a Firewater Flit back a generation/Doc Bar mare...very solid and a hard worker.

Anything Corona Cartel. I will take them over a DTF any day.

Chicks Beduino is great as long it's the right cross. There are some psychos out there.

I had a Special Leader/Bully Bullion that was dumber than a post and couldn't comprehend a thing. All run, no brain.

You just never know. All horses are individuals, there's just no telling.

I own one own son of Ivory James. His dam is an own daughter of Runaway Winner out of TB mare. He has the best mind, smart, and athletic. Sold his full sister at TQHA yearling sale and she was just like him. I had a client that helped collect Ivory and she said he was an amazing creature. Great mind and beautiful. I have yet to see one ugly Ivory James baby. I work for race horse people and handle a multitude of bloodlines. The FDD grandget are my faves.
