Does it work? I know it's extreme but I wondered if it helped.

I heard it was expensive but I was just thinking of a short term "kick start" for the winter months. January - February. When March rolls around I can ride more and get more exercise anyway. Did you happen to hear anything "good" or "bad"?

I have not tried this but my Doctor did give me Topiramate which is part of Qsymia. It really worked as an appetite suppressant but it changed my personality, I was angry all the time! It was awful! I do not mean a little angry, I hated everything and even the littlest things would make me so angry I thought I would break my teeth from grinding them so hard. This was from only being on them a few days, I immediately stopped taking them and I was back to normal right away.......

That's doesn't sound good at ALL! I know that is a migraine medication. From what I've read some people get side effects and others don't. There are so many people who just say... just quit eating. Well that's not so hard to do when it's nice and light outside and I can stay busy but darn this winter because I just get so bored and HUNGRY. People who say that have never had the problem we do I guess and so they can be critical. I'm going to do some more research and see what others say. I still might consider it but just for a couple months until the days get a little longer again. Thank you for warning me though! If I DO end up trying it - you can bet I'll quit it if I notice any weird side effects at all. Especially if I start getting a bad attitude because I'm pretty happy 99% of the time.

I know back when they had that phen phen problem they stopped the combination of it because of the other part of the drug - (not the phentermine?) but in this new combination with the migraine medication I don't thing the phentermine is as strong a dosage as people used to take so hopefully that's a good thing? My doctor might even refuse to give it to me, I haven't asked her yet, but if I could lose 20 pounds I know I'd feel a lot better.

Yes, I was on it for about 3 months. It worked awesome then I got really bad hives. Like hives you have never seen. Not just bumps but huge red splotches. I was allergic to the topirsmate portion of it. Phentermine itself works great for me.

You too!
Also have your thyroid checked. I've known several people who had gained weight just from having thyroid issues. Good luck! |
