First menu was prime rib with scalloped potatoes, green beans and almonds, fruit salad, brownies and creme brulee.  But then 4 SIL's and MIL said they wouldn't eat red meat.  My solution was to tell them to bring McD's. (Old, sad, long story 'cause one of them brought McD's to a T-day feast).

Second menu was filets and salmon on the grill.  I nixed that because Christmas meal should not be common dishes, imo.  This time my solution was to nix the whole thing.

But I do this for my hubb and his dad, no one else, so I regrouped and decided on, and got a go-ahead from all attending:

My shrimp/broccoli/mushroom linguini in a light garlic sauce, green salad, fruit salad, and the brownies and creme brulee.  Plus I finally have some Christmas cookies left over.  I'll do a couple appetizers and call it good.

I would stick to the original menu but add some salmon for the nonredmeat eaters

Reindeer, if my aim is good enough.  If not, then I fixed tamales, beans, chips and salsa, spanish rice, brownies, cookies, honey bbq meatballs, cake, rice krispie treats and beer.

That all sounds so good.  I am not cooking as Sears has not yet rectified my problems with my cooktop and oven since Thanksgiving.  So I will just be a bummer at my family and friends this year.  Guess you would say I am taking a break.
