Hubby surprised me with a 4 night cruise to the Bahamas (Nassau and CocoCay) in May.  We will be going on Royal Caribbean Enchantment of the Seas.  Please tell me everything you can.  I want to do parasailing in CocoCay and the clear kayak/snorkel excursion in Nassau.  We have an inside stateroom which i'm OK with.  Can't imaging we'll be there much anyway.  We are not non-drinkers/partiers so don't need any advice there.  Thank you!  I'm so excited!!!

Stay with a group of people when you leave the ship, take plenty of money with you because about the only thing to drink that is free is water.  Have fun, you will have a blast

Have never cruised RCI but have been on Princess, Norwegian, and Carnival.  They are all more alike than they are different.  I have never been to Nassau, it was on my list of places to visit on a cruise but one of my co-workers who cruises a lot told me that unless you spend the money to spend the day at Atlantis (as a shore excursion) then there isn't a whole lot to do there.

Have fun!

I love the Royal Caribbean Lines!  It's been a few years but have been on Voyager of the Seas on 2 different occasions.  Much nicer than Carnival in my opinion.

i know meals are included but are all drinks extra?  even water during the meal?  I've also heard it's better to get excursions through a 3rd party.  What has your experience been with this?

Make sure they have a good quality life jacket available should you need it. I'd go so far as to actually keep it in my room......maybe pack some arm floaties.

We have only cruised Carnival and LOVE it.  Carnival you are allowed to carry on a certain number of bottled water, colas and wine.  It is limited so we carry bottled water so that we can take it on the excursions.  On Carnival you can buy alcohol cards if your a big drinker or cola cards the tea, juices, coffee is free.  We have been known to carry fruit or boxed cereal on the excursions in our backpacks but need to check to make sure you can enter the country with food.  I never carry a purse I always carry a backpack so that its easier on excursions.  Pack lightly as possible as there are washers/dryers on every floor.  Lots of sunscreen.  Be CAREFUL with the excursions  we have done both thru the ship or once we are in port thru a third party  the difference is if its not thru the cruise line they will leave you if your not back in time and YES it does happen.  We had friend that was in a bus wreck in Jamica in October thank goodness it was thru Carnival and we had to wait about two hours for them to get back on ship.  In Cozumel we just rent a taxi and go to the state park and its way cheaper saved $750 with our group this last time.  Take a watch to keep with the ship time while your in the other countries.  Your cell phone or Ipad may not transition well thru the time zones.  I turn my phone off so that I do not incur roaming charges.

No charge for water with meals. Think ice tea and other drinks available at meals. You can get a pass for unlimited soft drinks for a reasonable price. Alcoholic drinks are an extra charge.

We booked excursion thru the cruise line because we wanted to do things with fellow passengers. You will be assigned a dinner table and will eat with the same people the entire cruise. We made lots of new friends and had a great time

Royal Carribean has great food.  The variety shows each night are good too.  Tea, coffee, juice, milk and water are free.  You can get them any time at the buffet room.  At Nassau bring small bills and go to the straw market.  The glass bottom boat ride is nice and at Coca Cay (I think) you can swim with the rays.  As for me being a Florida native, it will be way too cold to do that.   Get up early before the crowd, get your coffee and sit on deck and watch the sun rise - heaven on earth.

BTW what port are you going out from?  I live 10 miles inland from Port Canaveral.

We are leaving from Port Canaveral.  We have been looking into touring the Kennedy space center.  I live in FL but at the northwest edge, only about 10 minutes from AL along I-10.   I was hoping those waters would be a little warmer than the Gulf at that point!  Regardless i know we'll have fun.   I joined the cruise critic forum and i've found some good info there as well.  I think we might do the para-sailing in CocoCay and some type of snorkel excursion in Nassau and otherwise just hang out at the beaches an on the boat.  I'm REALLY looking forward to the food!
