The only thing I have seen is the new Professional's Choice Elite boots that have the sparkles already added. Here's a link to some of them: http://www.smithbrothers.com/professional's-choice-ventech-elite-smb-glitter-boot-value-pack/p/X3-04655/?EID=X38A00U1011&utm_source=Froogle&utm_medium=CSE&utm_campaign=MerchAdv&zmam=53292815&zmas=1&zmac=10&zmap=0004655021992X3-04655&gclid=CjwKEAiAodOlBRDCjr-UlJDjtVUSJABR7fxyF-jYhhmjC2deaMv7R4RP2dw49I6Z_oFTDJmUDl1_IxoCBaHw_wcB |

| I know that pro choice sells them. They only have them with the 3 colors and the mix of the 4. I was just curious if anyone knew of a way to do it to other boots. Kinda like a Pinterest thing I guess!! I was gonna try a few things to an old pair and see what stays but just curious if anyone had some suggestions. |

Location: Louisiana | I'm sure you could use glitter spray paint with a spray sealer (use one formulated for use over glitter) over it. I thought about doing it to mine. I have a pair of Professional Choice glitter bell boots that are completely destroyed. I only use them to run in, and T-Bo rarely hits them, the dirt and mud just ate the plastic-y coating off. I would say then last less than 20 runs. I got a new pair for Christmas to replace them and I will baby them a little more and see how long they last. I'm sure the SMBs would last a LOT longer because the straps aren't in the dirt like bell boots are. We haven't had very good luch with any of the patterned bell boots lasting and we don't use them at home-just to make a run.
To DIY your own straps this is what I'll do if I ever get the stuf together. 1. Scrub the straps clean if they aren't new boots. Let them dry. 2. Use some sort of protection for the rest of the boot and tape the edges of the straps so you only get glitter where you want it to go. 3. Spray an even coat of glitter spray paint over all of the straps and let them dry-however long the can says. 4. Spray a second coat if necessary. 5. Use a spray glitter sealant-these are usually near the glitter spray paint. Regular sealant will sometimes eat the color off of the glitter, making it not so pretty. Allow it to dry. 6. Rip off the tape and go make a sparkling run in your spiffy new boots!!
I love being able to answer, "I did/made it" when someone asks me where I got something! |

Thank you so much!!! I really appreciate it! I think the glitter would just bling up some of my older SMB's! I'm gonna give it a try :) And I know what you mean about the bell boots. They just fade so fast and start to crack. I save my nice ones for competition only. |

Location: In the woods somewhere in Arkansas | My best friend and I used Modge Podge that you get in the craft aisle at Wal Mart. We cleaned the straps, applied the Modge Podge, took the glitter and sprinkled it on the straps, let it dry for 10-15 minutes, and then reapply the Modge Podge to seal it. Quick and easy and cheap! I love the Professional's choice glitter boots but I'm not paying $175 for four pairs when I don't use backs on my horses. |
