Location: TN | I love the stuff. One mare ran her best with a dose less than 12 hours out. the other mare does best 2 weekends after it was given. I do know we have cut the need for injections down....... way down. |

Is there any difference between this and what you'd get from a vet? I have a 17 year old that I'd like to see if he's a canidate for. He was bad last winter, but I had him injected and he's been pretty good this winter... but every little bit helps! I have used the one from wwedgewood and horse pre race. Honestly I see better results with the pre race version.
Thanks! |

As someone mentioned I won't give to a bleeder cause they will bleed.
how much do you give your dog? Seriously looking into something to give my heeler since she gets so stiff after we ride! |

If you look on the horse prerace site there is a dog version of pentosan on there. It has full dosage guidelines. |

I have used the dexamethosone, flunixin(banning) , Pentosan platinum and omepraZole all from them. All seem to do the trick. They have some HA injectable equivalent to Legend on there for 15.00 a dose. Might try that next! |

Location: Texas | barrelracr131 - 2015-01-14 10:40 AM It's 130 for 50 mL (for me, through my vet). I give 6-6.5 mL weekly during the season and at least bi-weekly during the off season.
I would not give it to a bleeder, I'd probably choose Adequan instead for those cases. I have heard it doesn't work for every horse. However, I have seen really good results with my just turned 18 yo gelding. It has greatly extended the time between his IA injections.
ETA: IMO, Legend is not really worth the cost for the benefits it gives... jmho

So what is the difference between Pentosan and Pentosan gold?
Pentosan gold has added Glucosamine in it is all. Little more bang for your buck. THe pentosan platinum has Pentosan, GLucosamine AND HA. |

I am lucky. My vet is cheaper than Horseprerace.com.
I bought it there first then on a vet visit, checked with them and they were about 45.00 cheaper. |

I am very lucky in that my vet doesn't upcharge me either. Might still try the generic legend just out of curiosity sometime. Wedgewood does not have an HA blend |

You are absolutely correct! Prices are awesome. I haven't purchased from them since last year and their prices have dropped dramatically, lower than my vet now. Just ordered me a bottle. |
