Opinions of CSI pads?

I love the csi pads.

The csi plate disperses the weight from a small pressure point throughout the entire plate.

If you ever have a chance to do their demo you will see the results for your self.

When I did the demo you place your hand under a quarter sized press, you pull down on the press, she has a tool to measure pounds excreted per square inch.

The demo includes a 5 star, a needled no name wool pad, impact gel, one other pad, and the csi. My hand could withstand double the pressure on the csi then the other pads.

I have used csi pads for 6 yrs, I really like the csi under the crown c saddles as I feel I don't need to shim as much, the csi is contoured to the wither and the back, and never in my experience places any pressure on the top of the wither, I don't have to maneuver the pad after the saddle is on, the shape is maintained.

Csi works very well for a saddle that may be a little big for a horse or the tree is bridged in one spot. This is due to the pressure being dispersed, so the horse experiences even pressure.

Yes the csi are heavier, but it is due to the quality.

Yes some of the csi pads are bulky, there are inserts you can buy with the pad, 1/4, 1/2,1 and if someone wanted to go really thin the merino insert looks exactly like the lining of the shearling cinch, it is more money, but that is real sheepskin, I believe it is medical grade.

The merino insert is my next purchase.

Just for clarification, I am not a dealer, I am a happy customer.

I'm another advocate for 5 Star pads and Deanna aka Rockyroad.  I'm not an easy person to please but I have 5 of these pads and ordering another from Deanna soon.

I love my Ed Wright pads. They are not fancy, but they have held up so well!

5 Star!!! I just got it about 3 months ago, since it's winter here haven't used it much, but when I have, I have noticed that my saddle doesn't roll and my horse's back is never sore! I bought a thicker one, almost the ultimate team roper thickeness, but I love it. They may be expensive but worth it! I used impact gel before, which I also liked, but 5 star has been my favorite!

I have three 5 Stars... so that should probably be my vote!  I have never used another brand of wool pad, so I can't compare to anything else.  I will say that a CSI pad is on my to buy list in the future.
