pro ridders are tough. The flare at the shoulders and fit most average horses great. Wonderful people to work with. They can do a short horn and tall cantle but because they sit so deeply 4 inch is very secure. Very afordable and sky is the limit with options. Also I love my old Ed Wright

I LOVE my meleta brown! I ordered two years ago right from Meleta. She was amazing to work with!!
I have recently developed a crush on Double j saddles tho and from here on out will never buy anything else. The quality is amazing -- worth every penny. I bought a brand new custom lynn mckenzie and a used standard pozzi. I paid $2000 for my older used pozzi but it is blinged right out... I've come across used pozzi's for under $1500 :
)
I won't sell my meleta however because it fits SO many different horses and is my go to saddle for training! You can often find these used in the $1100-1500 range.
I used to ride in cheap saddles and never knew any different. My meleta was my first high quality saddle and the difference is unbelievable. Lynn Mckenzie posted on facebook just a few weeks ago a post about how a saddle is an investment. I couldn't agree more! Try friends saddles and make sure you find something that works for you and your horses and have fun shopping :

I have had about 15 New saddles in my lifetime. If I were to do it again,
(which im looking
)...I would definately buy
used
. I HATE breaking them in, hard on both me and the horse. But so hard to find a barrel racer that uses a 16 inch
(even tho some could use them, but wont admit
).
