I will be staying 10 days  in Hoffman, NC and going to a dog event in Cheraw, SC in October.
Can anyone point me in the direction of pastures/ponds/fields that we could use to keep our dogs tuned for the Master National?
Its the Superbowl of events for Retrievers (Goldens and Labs) and we will be there for 2 weeks, and will be looking for places to go to work our dogs.  We will set up a mock hunting situation.  No live ammo will be used- Just starting pistols firing blanks and throwing dead ducks or plastic bumpers for the dogs to retrieve.

We are really respectful of the property- clean up after ourselves and dont tear up the grounds.
If you all know of any places we could use, please let me know... Open fields, mowed/unmowed pastures and maybe a place with a pond are what we are hoping for

You will be about 45 mins from me!! We actually have two arenas in Hoffman that we use regularly for barrel races! One is Weekengo Farm Arena in Hoffman and the other is Still Waters Arena in Marston just 3 miles down the road. Hoffman is prime country for field trials and you could probably find what you need at one of those two arenas or at the Field Trial barn where they have a lot of trail rides at. I'm not sure who you would contact about the field trial barn, but I could put you in touch with the owners of the arenas and see if they know anything in that area.

OOHHH! There is a park in Society Hill, SC ( not far from Cheraw) that would be perfect! Check out H. Cooper Black recreation. Its a big field trial place, they even have kennels...plus there are camping sights and stalls if you were bringing horses. They take very good care of this place.

the competition is at H.Cooper Black, and no training is permitted on the grounds during the Nationals.

But I will take any leads you have~!

you could use my place, however, I'm about 3/4 the way from the northern part of SC. About 1 hour and half from Columbia. We have ponds, fields, and kennels. My husband trains retrievers and we also train foxhounds.
