What effect are you trying to achieve when you use it? Thanks

With all the people that use them and no one has anything to say? Are they good for lift or whoa or what?

There's a FB group called proper bits and bitting. I'm sure if you post a picture of the bit they can tell you all about it. Just don't tell them you're a barrel racer......;))

I like it because it really frees my horse up. Its nice and light and keeps him off his front end. I use it for barrel but I didn't like it for poles. I use a short shank Rookie bit for those. The simplicity bit is by far the best bit I have used on this particular horse for running barrels. I do not use a curb chain with it although you could if you needed more whoa.

IMO it is a very light bit but gives you a lot of bend and flex.  I would ride every horse in this bit if I could.  It doesn't have a ton of whoa which I need in a couple of horses but one of my mares LOVES this bit.

I really like this bit, it really fits my hands well on certain horses. In my opinion this bit is for a horse with a lot of natural rate. The horses ive used it on dont need the whoa of a curb strap, and ive never used one with a curb strap. I like he gag part because it has a slower asking rate. So by that i mean you can pick it up and itwont grab them until more pressure is applied. So if you asked for a turn a bit early it has some forgiveness. I do have horses that dont like it, and i have seen people use it where it doesnt fit their hands. I think over all, i like it on horses with lots of natural rate and ability, where they just need guided through the turns.

Wickedstpmother, this one right??
http://www.thetackstop.com/goosetreecgbit.htm

IMO it is a very nice step up bit from the standard smooth simplicity.  I do not use it much but I put it on my ratey horse for my daughter when she rides him.  (she's 12 and he's not too forgiving when hes on his game)  the CG makes him stand up a little bit more and back off the bit better than the simplicity, you still have a lot of flex and bend, but a lot more whoa than the simplicity.  I'm not sure how those above are using it without the curb but to each their own.  The definitions on the tackstop site are probably some of the best for these bits.

I bought one -- twice actually lol. sold them both. just didnt work for me n my crew. but i believe bits are as personal or more personal than saddles. no two peoples hands or styles are exactly the same. thus, their tools wont necessarily be the same either.

i ride around home in one and warm up in one. I love the feel however I am too chicken to try to run in it as I don't think you have much whoa in it.  Nice feel, lots of flex and bend

I think they really soften a stiff horse up and love their soft touch.

OK I misunderstood, the simplicity is awesome, has tons of poll flex and control which ultimately raises the shoulder. If you need more whoa put on the curb strap. or step up to the CG!

Youtube "Carol Goosetree on Bits". She explains several of her own and other bits she uses. I think she touches on this bit.

I ABSOLTELY LOVE THIS BIT!!! I use it on barrels and get a lot of lift with it and a lot of turn!! its perfect for my horse and it doesn't tear up his mouth. I actually get quite a bit of woah bc I use a curb chain!!
