Location: Texas | This past weekend we were down in Houston, at the ranch rodeo finals. Over the three days I got to watch many talented, home grown, cow bred horses. One horse stood a head above the others though, he was rode in an indian bridle - very impressive! Call me crazy, but now I want to start running my very finished, well tempered gelding in one. I just think it would be too cool. Like I said, call me crazy.

"Indian horse bridle"... I googled first to see. I haven't seen anything like it in CA lol. But I love the idea of it! I did however see two different versions.... one like a bitless bridle/halter & one looped around the lower jaw. |

okay, re-tract my statement... the ones on ebay look like the bitless halter type. |

Location: Texas | I think they are too neat. I've seen them used before, but after watching that horse work so well, on his own and the rider barely touching the reins has me intrigued.
A "war bridle" looks similar to a rope halter or normal bridle, the indian bridle only has a rope or chain under the tongue. |

Yes okay! I figured that was the kind you were talking about! I *think* it is called an Oliga bridle? |

I *think* it is called an Oliga bridle? That may very well be the correct name. Mind you, I've only gotten any info from our day hands and other trainers, all of which are men.... Lol

Under the tongue? You mean over the tongue? |
