Okay. I'm gonna try this differently. I'm just looking for someone with a good eye for babies to tell me what you think. I'm not crazy about her hip but conformation on babies is hard for me. They all kinda look alike to me...
Thanks

Babies are hard because they change so much. This also is not the best pic to judge. All I can see is that the hind legs may be we in under her more than I like. Something about their angles I just don't like. I'd like to see her a bit deeper in through the hip. Her neck ties in a bit low. I'm not a fan of her head. Overall she looks like an average yearling, not horrible but not particularly eye catching. These things may change some as she grows.

I like a horse that stands a little under in the back end. Means they can get their but under them. Around here straight back legs is a deal breaker. Nice short cannon bones, good slope to the shoulder and pasterns. Pasterns aren't too long. Neck ties in a little low but heck my filly's does too. The horse probably won't halter but should make a nice performance horse. I assume that is what you want??? What are you going to do with all that hair?

See now to my eye, she does have a longer (kind of spindly) front pastern. That actually bothers me more than her hip (lack of overall balance). I like her front/shoulder, & I like that she stands well up under herself behind. I would worry about long term soundness in a horse with long pasterns. BUT...Pictures can sometimes be very misleading. I think you can make conformation weaknesses disappear (or strengths, for that matter) just by changing the camera angle. And, yearlings change. I had a very ugly yearling SHEEP that blossomed into a beautiful horse as a 4 yr. old! Lol

I actually like her.  I always have a problem with babies at this age too.  They change so much.  Sometimes their pasturns are too long, too short.  I think she has a nice short back.  Her head isn't halter from the side view, but pretty doesn't run.  And, it will change too.

LOL you can always shave her and spin the hair into some yarn to use for a state of the art barrel racing poncho!?
I hear the ponchos shave off a whole second on your runs when you wear them.

She looks like she has a short back and a long underline. I like that. I like the angle of her hocks as well. I would prefer them to be a little under themselves than totally straight. I also like the bone length from her hock to her quarter.

He neck does tie in a little low for me but not a deal breaker. Her pasterns look long but when she starts to fill out they probably wont look bad.

I am not a fan of her hip at all. I want to see some muscle even in my babies and she is lacking substantially, in my opinion. She has no stifle muscle to speak of. Maybe it is just the angle of the picture or she is standing in or on something but her left heel looks considerably underslung in the picture.
