I don't like shiny silver and wondered if you can buy replacements for this, like you can conchos??? But not sure what to even call it to try and look for them??? Its the sliver some saddles have around the hole in the saddle skirt where the back cinch goes.

When I do that it brings up the real shiny western pleasure looking sets.... I would like something like antique silver, or brass looking... Not sooo shiny.

Maybe take it in to a saddle shop? I'm sure that would be the best help

That was my option if I couldn't find what I wanted I was just going to take them off. Just thought it would be cool if I could find some that I could get to match conchos. Figured I should check here before giving up.

Its very easy to remove them, all there is is 2 screws on the back just unscrew them. You will have to remove the back cinch billets to take off the silver plates. Easy pleasy

Take them off, rough them up a bit with a 000 steel wool and spray paint your choice of colors. Just a thought.

It's a saddle billet plate.

If that is a new saddle the screws may be sandwiched between the leather and the fleece. which will require cutting the stitches. You will have to use a fine comb to find the screw backs in the fleece. that may determine what you do with the silver. Let it get dull then it won't be so shiney.

This isn't a picture of the saddle just one I found online to illustrate what I was talking about. The saddle I am thinking about changing is an older saddle. I am really surprised with all the new custom conchos and buckles and stuff, they don't have more options for these.... oh well will probably just take it off. thanks guys

Lots of people do custom work with these, Mad Cow has some cool options, Troy Flaharty is another. Neither are "cheap" if that's what you are looking for though. They do excellent quality work.
