Location: Missouri | Got a phone call today from my boyfriend saying that he arrived at his parents house to find out that in the middle of the night someone had broke through a locked gate, into their families pumpkin patch tourist farm, and let out his sisters horses!! Luckily she was able to catch them and no harm, small scratches here and there, came to them. Scary part is they live between a railroad track and a highway. When she was tracing their tracks they had wondered up to the very active railroad tracks. This leaves me thinking, What in God's green Earth is wrong with people! I am now buying all new locks for my barn and home with extra security so that I do not have to wake and find this as well! Has anyone else had these issues with people?! |

Location: SE KS | No, I did however come home to find the neighbors horse had been let into my pasture, it had apparently gotten out & wanted the attention of my geldings. So someone stopped & let it in. My broodmare took her foal & retreated to the far corner of the pasture!!! |

Location: Never in one place long | I've been pretty fortunate to never ever have anyone mess with my animals, horses, house, car or anything. I have lived in mostly rural areas though and around great people. I know things have been reported happening, just never to us. I'm hoping it stays that way, we're pretty lax about everything, I guess it's because we've never had problems.
That's terrible someone would do that and risk the horses getting killed. I'm sorry! |

Location: Florida | I believe that it all goes back to TV, then Movies, then vidio games. Kids sit there all day watching people getting blown up, play games where they beat people to death, and we expect them to act civilized. They become numb, the culture says no big deal, and they live it. It has got to stop. Hollywood thinks free expression is important, what about what is best for society? We have to stop the culture of violence over the slightest precieved insult. |

Eh, they're have been too many cruel, sadistic people long before video games and TV were around to blame it solely on that. I think healthy people have a "switch" they can flip, to know fiction from reality. But taking someone who's NOT mentally stable and exposing them to such media is asking for trouble. Glad to hear everything turned out alright. That is a very scary situation and my worst nightmare! |
