If you can't get a hold of her. I would take that as a "dump off" or "surendered" to you.
I wouldn't give her a penny of whatever they bring. Give her 24 hours to get them. If she doesn't come get them by then. Call the local sheriff. Tell them the story and ask what you need to do with the horses.
He/she may say keep them and sell them or he may drop them off at her house and possible charge her a fine for him having to drop them off.

Hope you have all your reciepts from feed. Looks like it will turn into more than just helping her out. People who take advantage of others good hearts make me upset...  Hope they end up somewhere they are wanted. Sad stuff.

Morally, I can not sell them, and won't. I will be loading them up and dropping them off on her property this evening, I'll even set up some panels if I need too. I've gone through quite a bit of ultium, and alfalfa. I feel bad, but I should no have to pay for someone elses horses. I have my own to care for.

I'd turn her in for animal neglect if she's had them from birth... obviously she neglected to give them basic needs...   But thats just me.

I wish you were closer, I'd come get the bay roan! I will give any horse a fighting chance. It's amazing what some TLC and basic foundation will do for a colt.

I honestly doubt the colts are stunted. Given time, good feed & wormer they will both snap back fine as their condition is a long ways from severe neglect. Here's a gelding I bought as a coming 3 year old, barely 14 hands & gangly.....and pictures of him last year at 7, he's about 15.2 & SOLID.
Did you have details worked out with your "friend" before agreeing to get the fillies ready for the sale? In all reality it should have been discussed what you would be doing to prep them & what her costs would be. She may have thought you where wanting to take them simply because it's something you'd enjoy doing & was shocked/mad when all of a sudden you wanted money.
