My colt kicks in the trailer
I have tried multiple things I have put a space between him and the other horses, I have fed him and I have not fed him. He only kicks when there are other horses in the trailer. He is kinda ornery to other horses. Any suggestions? I am thinking either kick chains but I honestly don't think that they will phase him. Otherwise I was looking at hobbles but that makes me nervous for in the trailer for if he loses his balance.

Put tire inner tubes to sandwich him in tight in his slot it will take his mind off kicking.

I don't know for sure if they are making him stop kicking completely or just muffling the sound and/or softening the blow, but softrides helped our gelding.

This, helps when you have horses fighting too. They catch on quick!

I would just keep brake checking then. It throws them off balance and mine at least have learned I'll do it when they least expect it. Could he be irritated with the soft ride boots?

Well I always feel bad brake checking him because we have other head in the trailer and they are standing just fine. Because when he is by himself he doesn't kick at all. We have hauled him with and without the softrides and he kicks no matter what.

Put breeding hobbles on him after you load him up. Only thing I found that worked on my nieses horse.

Mine has destroyed the inside rubber on my trailer in her stall from kicking and pawing. I didn't know about chains until about a year ago. She's gets pawing chains and kick chains. No more problems.

Yeah they are and cheap. We use leather dog collars and put a piece of chain on them. Simple.

Have you tried changing where in the trailer he rides? We have one that is a real bugger unless he's in the last back slot.
