Subject: Perfomance horse sales

Location: NC		Currently in the market for a new horse, since my mare got hurt and is out for a while. A friend of mine suggested looking at a performance horse sale. Has anyone had any luck getting a horse from a sale and them turning out good? bad? ugly? Unfortunately on a limited budget, and horse shopping is hard sometimes.

Location: Texas		Depends on the actual sale itself. We have bought many horses from the Premier Equine Auctions, formerly Havard Sales, and been nothing but satisfied with our purchases. But, I wouldn't go to the horse sale in Elkhart, in hopes of finding a performance or barrel horse or prospect. We have also been very happy with horses we have bought in Billings. 
Just do research on the sale, the horses in the sale and where they are coming from, the good sales will give you any and all information you ask for.
