Location: NE Texas | My thoughts and prayers are with all affected by the flooding, storms and tornados. I know that Van, TX took a pretty hard hit last night and saw on the news there were even tornados in SD yesterday. This weather has certainly been crazy and dangerous all over the country. I'd just like to let everyone know who has been affected and suffered damage from the wind and the water that I am thinking of them and praying for them! |

Location: NE Texas | I always try to check on the BB's I know that are in the general location of the bad weather, but i'm sure I miss some. It has just been downright scary. I spoke with canchasr1 via text this morning and she said Van is pretty bad and she was heading down there with supplies this morning.

Location: Finally horseback again.... | I just got out of Van a bit ago, to say it is a mad house is an understatement. My husband was there until 3 am working with the fire departments doing search and rescue. He came in for a couple hours and is now running the staging area for FD crews. As of right now, they are trying to contain and control the city, get electrical lines shut off and repaired, find missing people and clear some roads. Red Cross is on scene and dontations are pouring in from all over. They do have a shelter set up at the First Baptist church. Unfortunately looting has already started, ( just makes me sick for people to think its ok to steal from people who have lost everything) So unless you are first responders, electric companies or bringing supplies, they are turning people out. Van is a tiny town and there are literally thousands of people there right now. We will continue to pray for the victims, some are seriously injured. |

I will never understand why people do these things in times of crisis, you're right, it is sickening. Thank you for the update, canchasr1, very tragic. Continued prayers for the people of Van and that the injured and missing are cared for and found!!! |

Location: Red Raiderland | I'm so sad for all those in Van. We heard it on the scanner last night. Herbie so glad yall are ok after that crazy night. We have 8 more days of more rain and possible storms. Canchasr1 you and your hubby are awesome. Is there anything I can bring or help with in the meantime? The last report is that 3 people are unaccounted for. |
