Location: NC | I bought this horse on Easter Sunday. Brought him home and took the first picture as soon as he got off the trailer. He was cribbing on my metal panels I use to feed the others in. He would take a nibble, walk away, crib, pace, then go back. He was being fed Purina Strategy Healthy Edge. He would pick around it and eat the locally milled Senior feed (14/10/16). I suspected ulcers or at least some kind of issue with his belly. His coat was dull, wasn't shedding out, and he just had a sick look to him. So I got up with Krystal and got some GastroPLUS. Started as soon as it got here.
He was on one 32 dose round of the GastroPLUS, 8lbs of the Senior feed, Forco, and flax. He gets two armfuls of grass hay morning and night.
Here is the progress. I am absolutely giddy about his progress. He's not cribbing nearly as much, DIVES into his feed with gusto, plays with the other horses across the fence, is more open to attention, and just overall a better looking and acting happy pony. He's been on THE Muscle Mass special blend for about 2 weeks now. Hoping to see how well he blooms on it.
His name is Incontention. I call him "Special" since he's my special case. He is wicked fast but comes with an issue of course which made him cheap. Hoping hubby can work with him and figure him out and get him back to winning like he was.

Location: NC | Thanks everyone. I'm glad I'm good at getting one fattened up. Riding is definitely not my forte with horses. Lol. Still working on that though!

I wouldn't worry much about riding... I don't do it either... I never figured my place was sitting on the back of a horse.. I DO like having big buddies tho.. Looks like you have one there!!! |

I think at some point he had a rough time of things. He was pretty stand offish towards people. Now he's decided we aren't going to be hateful towards him and that those little cookies sure do taste good enough to at least look like he likes us. Lol. He's really grown on me. He's just an all around super nice horse. Even if he never gets his problems 100% solved, he sure makes a pretty trail horse. Lol. |
