| Does anyone have experience with this? My filly is a month old and is slightly over at the knee. After playing her knee's will wobble forwards to back at times. She had a vitamin E and Selenium shot the day she was born and one a few days ago. She was born at 327 days and she is a large foal, she has also grown quickly. My vet is not overly concerned. She is in a small dry lot with the dam and vet does not want her to have any grain due to how fast she is growing.

| At what point should she be growing out of the over the knee/ and wobbly knee's? What have you used to treat this? I just ordered rejuvinate pellets by progressive as I have heard/read that it can help with leg issues. |

Location: LaCygne, KS | Probably will be O K. We have a 2 week one that has the same after running and I'm not worrying at this time. It is definitely better than being back (calf kneed) at the knees. I think your Vet is spot on. JT

| she has always had a little wobble after playing but I figured it was cuz she was a little early and didnt think too much of it. Now that she is a month old I was starting to wonder/worry. How long can this go on and be considered OK? |

Location: Where I am happiest | It is very common and I sure wouldnt panick just yet. Give her time as everything is growing and it is common for the bones to grow at times faster then the tendons and ligaments. |

| This is my 2015 colt at just over 30 days old. He looks 'over' too, but this is pretty normal in my experience. When he was born he was a little loose in the fetlocks for the first 10-14 days. With exercise that is all gone. I will take a series of good pics at 90 days and by then he won't look 'over' by then. As the above poster said - better than buck-kneed. Unless the 'over' is enough to interfere with normal movement (think walking on toes or stumbling) then all should be well. My little guy is a terror almost all the time. His first three days were either dead run or nurse, no inbetween. He's still out running more than anything else. And he likes to do insta-stop and turns too.

I'd agree. Don't panic and don't go pumping her up with all kinds of growth supplements. Time and patience does wonders :)

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | I agree with the others, the one's I have seen outgrow it in time. So be patient and let mother nature take care of it, like Tee said dont be pumping to much into her let her grow at a normal rate. Shes going to be fine. |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | I hardly see race bred horses that aren't very over at the knee. They post them all day long in Speedhorse "Future Stakes winners" and most become just that. We keep ours out where they get a ton of exercise and all are just perfect by weaning in the fall. Unless they are so bucked over they look like they are crab walking, I wouldn't worry a bit. |

| Thanks for all of the replies everyone! I wasnt too worried more just not wanting something to carry on that I could have/should have done something about. She is otherwise very healthy and runs around all the time! |

Location: Texas | I had 2 that were much worse than yours. The first was normal by 2 mo. With no supplements. The second, was given Rejuvinaide and did great too. She was the more severe case & took a little longer. I do remember being advised to limit activity by stalling or keeping in a run. The fatigue causes it to be worse. |

I tried that product. It did absolutely nothing.
To the OP, I have seen them be over in the knees pretty bad and by the time they are weanlings it goes away. I don't worry about it. I have one mare who produces foals that are over in the knees. It's nothing. The only time I would worry is if they are contracted in the fetlocks and walking on their toes or they can't lock their fetlocks in a normal standing position. That is epiphisytis and is more serious. |
