I am stuck between two horses! One is an own daughter of strait firewater and grand daughter of firewater flit, all thoroughbred on the bottom, she is just broke under saddle and hasn't been started on the pattern yet, 3 years old. Then there is a grandson of Corona cartel and a grandson of rocket wrangler, loping the pattern and ready to go on with and standing at 14hh, 9yo. I like the filly because of her breeding and I could breed her and the baby still have some awesome papers, her father is proven in alot of things and seems to be pretty versatile. The geldings breeding on the other hand is pretty outstanding it's self! I'm just curious what you guys think about the two. Thanks!

Probably the filly for me... The 9yo would have to be pretty awesome for me to over look his height... but if you don't mind shorties then I would go with him. He is farther along. Really depends on your plans. Will you be able to train the filly or will you have to pay a trainer to get her to the same level as the gelding?

Filly for me too. I prefer her breeding and if she's really broke, then she could be solidly loping the pattern within a couple of weeks.

Nothing wrong with starting a horse on barrels at 9, but if I get a choice I like to start them sooner. His height is a personal deterrent for me too.

I know Strait personally and would definitely go with the filly.
He is a really neat, well put together horse.
If you have questions about him or his babies call Kasey at Lazy Susan ranch, she will answer any questions for you.

Just on what you told us the breeding on the filly is super nice and shes a 3 year old thats broke and really to get a handle put on her, I would pick her so FILLY for me. The gelding is way to short for me, he sounds nice, 14hh sounds really short for the breeding he is..

Sorry! I ment he's 16hh idk why I put 14hh. I will be able to train the filly myself and I want to be able to go pretty far in barrel racing. The gelding was just patterned last fall, so he hasn't had his legs ran off of him.

Well now that you got some hight on the gelding , I would really have to see them both, they both sound really nice.
