Ditto - my old Aussie gal got shaved on Saturday. She is inside and my vacuum thanks Petsmart and she is happier!!  Nope. Or maybe she does but not to me? Lol.... That's my old gal! She is a mess! Even in her old age. We call her the 'fun police' bc she's barks if we talk too loud or dance....or any fast movements actually. Lol.....she likes her 'sheep' to be quiet.
Mine loves the water too! In her younger days she would tube behind the boat. No lie. |

Befor Puppie gets shaved and she goes swiming her whole body stays above the water, she floats with all that hair and when she would get out of the water she had a hard time shaking the water off cause I think she was like a sponge and was to heavy with water in her fur to shake the water out, but once she does get shaved her body does go under the water line and she can shake, lol.. |

I'll be helping to do a "hunter clip" on my in-laws Aussie this weekend. It will be his first experience with the clippers so we will just do underbelly and trim up legs etc. If he stays cool enough we will just go with that...if not we will go for the full clip. But I warned them...seeing him fully shaved would show them just how chubby he is!

Location: Texas | My grandpa has a mini Aussie. I some how got volunteered to shave his dog lol. Anyway She was getting too hot and even though he brushes her all the time she was getting a lot of junk in her hair. So I shaved her belly down. It wasn't pretty by any means but I kept the hair on the side so it hung down enough that you couldn't even tell her belly was clipped from the front legs to the back. Then I also trim up the long hair on her legs to make it easier for him to manage. He said it helped her a lot, and he has been calling me to come out and do it again. |

I clip mine.... My house stays much cleaner and the dogs seem happier. They do look ridiculous and the dog trainer was horrified....but it grows back and as long I give them lots of love, they don't care what they look like. My dogs live on the furniture and ride in the truck, it's just so much easier to clean up less dog hair. Mine are only outside when I am...really hot days, they'll punk out and want to go hang out in the house with the a/c.
