Regular Posts: 85	I have a mare that has an issue turning 2 and 3.. Has been seen buy multiple vets/chiros. I have it narrowed down to her going out in her back and ribcage..My saddle fit seems to be great on her. So what gives..? Her ribcage goes out 2 weeks after being adjusted and I can't afford to keep getting her fixed bi-weekly.. I am getting ready to try a treeless on her to see if that may help. Any other ideas? Thank you!!

Such as the shoulder and back. and if you have help you can do the neck. If you see or feel your horse coming out you can work on your horse before it gets too far.

Experienced Mouse Trapper Posts: 3106 Location: North Dakota	Sore back to me might mean sore stifles/hocks. I've had an excellent experience with accupuncture this spring. We had 3 accupuncture treatments followed by chiro/massage and we are on the right path to recover from a bad injury. Chiro mentioned how tight back and neck was and showed us some stretches to do whenever we ride and it seems to really be helping.

Have you looked at ulcers, as a horse can be sore in the rib cage if experiencing ulcers As others have said could be hocks, stifle, si joints causing her to change her gait. Was the vet knowledgable? What type of tests did he do?

Blessed Location: Here	Muscles are active. bones are passive. until you address the muscle issues the alignment will not "hold" because sore tight muscles will just keep pulling the alignment back out

Regular Posts: 85	Thanks! Yes, I've done the magna wave before an adjustment.. Felt it was nice but unless I can use it more frequently I'm not sure how much it did for me.. I am having her re-checked Tomorrow and will ask about all these things.. I am going to try riding her in a Bob Marshall after her adjustment just to see if that helps any. As far as I can tell from what the vets/chiro told me her hocks/stifles are not the problem.. After she gets adjusted she is golden for about two weeks.. Completely different horse. Thanks again!

I Chore in Chucks Posts: 2882 Location: MD	Find a massage therapist like others have said, also find out what stretches AND exercises you need to do in between adjustments to help strengthen the muscles to help hold the bones where they should be. Your chiro should be telling you these things that will help keep your horse feeling good, if not I would consider finding another one. I know I was having several issues with having my big giant geldings lower back and butt area skeletal system entirely. She said a lot of issues stemmed from not working the right muscle groups. his weak muscles weren't used to where they SHOULD be and I should take on jumping him a few days a week, lots of collected long trotting in straight lines. In the end that meant less circles, more actual exercise then learning new things and working on barrels. Helped tremendously.. of course every horse is different and it depends on what you're individually having issues with

Take a Picture Posts: 12838	Check for kissing spines. Many horses have this and it is never diagnosed.
