Location: Woodstown, NJ | My daughter is looking at a Kelly Kaminski saddle by Circle Y. She was told it has full Quarter horse bars and a 7" gullet. Her Billy Cook (Sulphur, OK) which is regular bars, is making dry spots on each side of the mare's withers. I was surprised because this saddle has fit all of our horses and the mare doesn't appear to be wider than the others. Anyway, she's looking at this Kelly Kaminski but I'd love to get opinions because it's a lot of money for a young girl and I don't want her to make a mistake. She will try it on her horse tomorrow but I can't tell you how many saddles I've tried on my horses and it wasn't until I was riding in them a while that I realized they didn't fit quite right. So what do you think? Thanks! |

Location: Southeast Louisiana | I have one, and I love it. I bought it specifically for the one horse I use it on. It was a used saddle, so I was able to make a run in it before I bought it. Soon as I rode in it, I knew it was a good fit for me and my horse.
Sorry I can't offer much advice on width or how it might fit other horses. I'm pretty terrible at guessing that and usually have to try them on before I know if it'll work. |

Location: Louisiana | We bought my mom one for Christmas. It is literally the ONLY saddle that has ever fit her gelding. That said, he is built kind of funny. Big shoulders, flat back, but not typical QH wide. And short backed. He is a different horse now. Her old saddle was pinching his withers, and tilted forward. With the new saddle, he is so much smoother to ride. He extends so much better and their runs have improved!! So, idk if it will fit your horse, but we love it! Nice thick leather, well made. |

| A friend had one, she liked it okay, I hated it.
I found they run small, I ride a 14-14.5" in my double j and Martin. The KK was a 15" and I swear you still needed a pry bar to get me out, way too much swell for my liking.
Fit the horse okay, although I don't find him to be particularly wide. If you can, try it first. |

Location: OH-IO | I have one, It fits both my cow built mare and my lanky more TB built mare, BUT I ride in a 5 star pad and that helps a lot. Love love love it though. The seat does seem to run smaller, I ride in a 15 and it fits m more like a 14.5.... But I absolutely love it. |

Location: Tuttle Oklahoma | I like mine; it is the Kelly Kaminski Shining Star model with a 6 3/4 gullet. It is very comfortable, but it is a custom saddle with upgraded leather and has felt broke in since day one. The only thing I would change about it are the front swells but other then that it does give you a very secure seat. I have heard that their overall saddle quality has gone down the last few years. It does fit my horses but I always use a 5 Star pad what does make a difference. The seat size doesn't seem to fit small to me. |
