Saddle rolling?

I need some tips.... My saddle fits my mare great, with a little bit of shimming behind the shoulder. I use a mohair cinch and I am still having a horrible time with my saddle rolling. She is pretty flat backed, but not mutton withered. I am just at a loss, every time I figure one thing out something else comes to light.

How thick is your pad? And what type of a pad is it?

I was hoping to get pictures and I completely spaced it out. I am using a THE CORRECTOR pad with only one shim behind the shoulder.

I had the same problem with my mare. I got Len Brown's Never Tight cinch and it works great! It's worth every penny.

I had this exact same issue when I started using my corrector pad. I had run with my mohair cinch for years without issue prior to switching pads. I forgot to put my mohair in the trailer one weekend and had to use the neoprene professionals choice I keep in the trailer as a spare. My saddle didn't roll at all. Have since switched back to my Charmayne James PC girth and no more rolling.
I would like to try the Len Brown cinch but the price tag is a bit steep, especially after just buying a pad.
Not thrilled about having to go back to the neoprene as I prefer the mohair, but I am happy about staying the middle of my horse lol.

You may have to play some saddle pad roulette. Been there done that. If you have access to different types of pads, try sitting your saddle under them. Watch for if it's too high in front
(thick
) and if it bounces or sticks up in the back.

I feel the same way. I stopped using it many years ago and have been happy with my mohair up until the last couple months. Luckily, my horse does not seem to mind the change.
