| Does anyone leave bell boot/over reach boots on horses when turned out? To prevent pulling shoes off. |

Location: on my horse | Yeah I used to have a gelding I would put bell boots on when I turned him out. I ended up getting some of those pull on rubber ones so he wasn't damaging or losing my good bells in the pasture |

| Never tried rubber ones. You mean the ones that cover whole foot right? Did you have problem with rubbing? Thanks |

Location: Winging It in KY | Yes, I put bell boots on mine every time he goes out. If I don't, it never fails, he will come back in with one gone or sprung. I've never had an issue with them rubbing him and I do not use rubber ones. |

| Oh, I forgot to mention - I don't use the pull on type rubber ones, but I do use the cheaper rubber ones that have the velcro straps. You can usually get them at tractor supply for about $15.00. I don't have rubbing issues either. |

Location: CTX | Yes, all my kids that have shoes on wear the pull on rubber bell boots 24/7. Have done this for years now, and I don't see any rubbing or problems with it. |

Location: Lost in the swamps | Tractor supply has the tough one brand! I have had no issues with those at all! Love them and no rubbing! I did have to buy a large for my 15 hand horse though,I did find they run small.

| My horse wears the rubber ones 24/7, he's notorious for pulling shoes off when he gets to playing in the pasture. I go through a couple pairs of boots a year, but it saves shoes! |

| Thanks for the responses. I'm working with the vet & farrier to improve horse's feet. Vet told farrier to bring toes waaay back and use bigger shoe. Vet told me to use bell boots all the time & keep him up when it's real muddy. I guess he will get used to them. |

Location: MD | I left overreach boots on, I kept having to go traipsing around trying to find them every other morning. half the time when I did find them the Velcro would be ripped, or they'd be so twisted up they'd mark up my boy. too expensive to keep doing that. got the rubber ones and they are great haven't had to go find them 4 times a week! |
