iloveequine40 - 2015-07-07 5:44 AM Just to clarify...you ran on Friday, no lasix, no bleeding out, no problems but coughing afterwards then on Saturday, lasix and craziness? I will guarantee she bled on Friday but not visible to you hence the psycho behavior. I've had 2 bleeders, one bad and one mild. I NEVER randomly pick and choose when I use the lasix. It doesn't work that way. It's probably too late now but I'd get her scoped and get her on some antibiotics, turn her out for 30 days and let her heal.
This. Best friend's mare never bled outwardly but sometimes she would cough after running
(also a 1D horse
). At the Runnin WJ in Texarkana she decided since Dr Ford was there she'd get her scoped after her run Sunday since she had coughed Fri & Sat. Sure enough - she had bled.
