Hubby's calf horse had a little too much taken off his feet last week and is sore... Any suggestions on how to help him out? He's shod, and has his soft rides on now.

I've used Venice Turpentine to toughen them up. Iodine works too, but slower. Hope he feels better soon :

You can also apply Absorbine and make sure you pay attention to the superficial flexors. It obviously can only do so much if he's trimmed excessively short, but it will help with cirulation in the legs and ease some of the soreness. Aspirin never hurts either, and with molasses or Karo it isn't such a pain to administer.

A biotin supplement will encourage faster growth.

If you can get some Magic Cushion...you can apply it to the soles and put the Soft rides back on. It will reduce inflammation and really help. I love that stuff.
