Do you ride your horses when they are "butt high?" How much/often, etc.? When can I expect my horse to even out? He's three and I've had him almost a year. He's been this way the whole time. I've seen several other colts by his sire and it seems to be common for them. I just don't want to over do it with him like this. He is a futurity prospect for me but right now we've just been working on bending, flexing, moving over and catching leads.

The three year old I ride is a bit uneven, not majorly, and he is rode all the time. He's got tons of trail experience on him now, and has shown in the pleasure pen a tad bit. He's gonna be started on barrels next spring, but we doubt he will be much in that area. (His owner bought him as a barrel horse, and he's winning in the english pleasure pen. haha)

I look at the knee growth plates to ensure there are no significant gaps.

I also don't ride my colts for more then 30-45 min per day 3-5 days per week. I find their attention span is not long and I have better success with them focusing in this time frame.
