| Is there ANYTHING that works? My poor mare (and myself) has welts all over her. I had to take off her fly sheet as it was rubbing a spot on her withers. I've tried Cutter, Off, Skin So Soft, Lysterine. Anybody have any suggestions? The only time they aren't swarmed all over her is when I am running the hose on her. Her fan seems to help in the stall but that doesn't help when we're riding. |

Location: Idaho | Do you feed her grain? If so add some garlic powder in with it! Mosquitoes don't like it, and the horses eat it pretty well.

| This is the best. Gardstar concentrate (think I got it from Jeffers maybe valleyvet). About 15 drops of lemogress oi and 15 drops of citronella oil--- you can't use too much. (Get theses from a health food store---little bitty bottles). A couple of glunks of Skin So Soft. All in a gallon sprayer. You can set down pretty good cause this is cheap. Even keeps big black flies off pretty well. DO NOT use the citronella lamp oil from the garden center at Walmart. Those little bottles of oil from the health food store last me a couple of years. |

How much garlic powder per feeding or day? Thanks! We have a bumper crop of skeeters this year! |

Β How much garlic powder per feeding or day? Β Thanks! Β We have a bumper crop of skeeters this year!
I have fed garlic powder and it does nothing. I have mosquito's year round. This year with all the rain we have had they are worse. Save your money. I fed a single handful. |

I tried garlic too had no results and after awhile they wouldn't eat it, so I dumped a LARGE bucket of it that I had purchased from Springtime. |

Location: Okla | I have bought and tried about everything on the market with no results, 'until' I got smart and bought Skin So Soft, Shakles Basic H, I don't measure, just pored prob 1/4 cup SSS, 1/8 cup Basic H and filled the bottle up with water. Sprayed my horses heavy, and NO more bug bites whatsoever any where on them. Now I just spray lightly daily, it's amazing. And believe me, I feel stupid thinking of all the money I wasted on buying fly products. My horses smell good, and are not bothered with flys, Mosquitos, no see um bugs, and they all are happy horses. The big horse flys and deer flys don't even bother them, and it's so much cheaper . I will never go back to store bought fly sprays... |

Location: North Dakota | I used to get garlic flakes in my smartpaks but don't remember it making a difference. There's also garlic in my THE but probably not enough to matter to the bugs. I'm going to try the skin so soft. I have one horse that I'm not sure exactly which bugs cause small hard welts all over his neck/shoulder but every time he goes outside he's covered. He lives in his fly sheet which takes care of like 90% of it. Luckily it hasn't rubbed or shifted and he can move freely enough to jump a 3' fence in it. I'm going to try the skin so soft recipe though because I've tried probably 8 different fly sprays that have done nothing. He's also got very sensitive skin and had a horrible reaction to equispot (stomping, biting at it, swishing his tail at it--it hurt! Got it washed off right away and thank God it didn't have time to make him blister or flake).

Location: Home....Smiling M Farms | I started poisoning my mosquitos. It's worked pretty well, there are still some of them, but no where near the numbers we usually have. Normally, they can pack you up and carry you off. Now, I might see one or two a day. I live in the woods and it's literally rained everyday this month except one. |
