Ok so I did this for 2016 & have a stud chosen so now I'm looking forward to 2017. In 2017 I will be able to spend up to 10k on a stud so I'm looking for top studs. My mare has a si of 91 won a total of a little over 4k with 11 outs, won money in the 1d & barrel futurities. She is 15.1hh, correct & straight legs. Her back is a little longer then I like so I would like a stud who throws short backs. I don't have good photos at the moment but will try to post a couple just so you can get an idea of her looks.

Here's her pedigree http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/briscos+belle

Thanks in advance!

That's a pretty healthy budget so I would go with Firewaterontherocks, Blazin Jetolena, Frenchmans Guy etc if you are wanting to add some turn. You probably won't get a lot of height with BJO but that may not be important to you. If you are wanting race bred I'd try Ivory James. I think you'd have good resale with any of those. Just my thoughts.

That is a long way from now. I wouldn't be worrying about 2017 until next year. In a year's time new studs will come on the scene, some studs will have passed away (morbid as it may be), stud fees will change, studs will change owners, studs will produce a big winner and all of the sudden become the hot ticket, etc.

With that kind of budget you can breed to the best. There will certainly be more to look at next year but I'd think something like Ivory James, Tres Seis, Dash ta Fame, Epic Leader, Frenchman's Guy, etc.

Didn't you ask opinions on this same mare a month ago?

I like all the picks suggested to you in your first post.

ETA: Oops, I just read your post saying you chose one for 2016, and you're looking for 2017. . . who did you choose for 2016?

I'm pretty set on BHR Frenchies Socks for 2016. I think they should cross nicely
