How much do you charge to just simply haul from point a to point b. No riding, showing, seasoning ect? I used to barge .65 cents per mile back In the day but what's the going rate now?

I charge from $1.75/loaded mile to $2.50 - depends on where I'm going.

I think it would depend on a few things

Are you hauling your own horse at the same time

Were you going to the same place regardless

Are you doing this for a business

Does your insurance cover you for working for hire

Not hauling anything but her horse, not wanting to go even close to that direction. Lol!
she boards here, she has no trailer, and moved over 3 hours one way for work.
She just needs her horse haul to where she is now. Not a business venture.

The one thing I would check into is insurance.

If you are in a crash and the horse is injured, or even suspected injuries, your insurance may not cover as some insurance companies would consider charging mileage commercial, and unless you run commercial insurance, it may be invalid.

If this is an acquaintance, I wouldn't be volunteering, and suggesting a transporter who has all the paperwork inorder.

If I am doing this for a friend, I may ask for reimbursement for fuel
