Agreed... That's why I like Shetland Ponies... Closer to the ground.... Not as far to fall... and..... they eat less... (usually).. I have seen a few that eat like a horse!!!... well..... a larger horse.....

Location: Bandera, TX | I got bucked off early last year and landed on my hip. Nothing was broken, but it hurt for almost 6 months.
I thought I would be fine after 2 weeks, but it kept dragging on. The older we get the less we bounce. When I hit the ground there was a loud thud. No bounce at all.
Hope you feel better! |

| Do you have a good Chiropractor??? If you do go see him,,, if you need Xrays they can order them for you. It will take a few treatments but It will be worth it. |

Location: Willows, CA | I went off of a very green three year old colt last month. My fault, of course. This was about a week after my 65th birthday, and I wondered what I was thinking riding a colt that had serious trust issues that everyone else had given up on. A month later he is doing great, but I was sore until the last week or so. I think this will be my last baby to ride. I used to do this falling thing better. I don't seem to bounce any more, I just make a dent in the ground. |

| Thanks Everyone! I gave in and went to the urgent care and got some x-rays. Nothing is broken so i am at least thankful for that. Thanks for all your kind words....I am not bouncing anymore either i guess... i'm afraid its going to be a slow process...we shall see. I'm liking "slower" horses more all the time...lol |

Location: NC | My guy tossed me back in April. He hates slow work and dummy me made him do it for an extended period. He did his signature Buck Buck spin move and off I went. I landed hip first in the hard packed wet sand. It took me a good couple minutes just to breathe again. I couldn't walk normally for a few weeks. Was sore for a good month or so afterwards. I reckon it's a tender spot to land on
Luckily next time I came off it was at a show and right after a big drag. Landed on my chest too so my air bags broke that fall. Lol.
Hope you feel better soon! Lots of Motrin/ibuprofen. You can take up to 800mg safely. If you take 800mg, take it once daily. Keep it built up in your body and it will keep the inflammation down. Tylenol should help knock the pain off a little too. They're safe to take at the same time. Usually an hour or so apart. That's what I've always done anyways and I have yet to have any negative side effects. Two separate classes of drugs. Anyways, feel better! |

Location: stray dump capital of the world | I came off almost 3 years ago fracturing my pelvis and my tailbone in 2 places. My back and tailbone healed, but I continued to have severe pain. I had an MRI where they injected dye in my hip in November, and come to find out, I have labral tear similar to a rotator cup injury. I'm trying to decide the best treatment, but it's looking more like surgery. I agree, you should see a doctor. |

| I also came off over a month ago landing square on my knee/elbow.
I STILL HURT.
I waited a week to be seen and come to find out I am a big baby because it is all just bruising.
But this pain is a mother lover so just know it could be minimal damage and maximum hurt lol.

Location: DUMPING CATS AND PIGS IN TEXAS :) | I lost my seat coming off of first over two weeks ago. After two ER visits, one hospitalization, 3 fractured ribs, one partially collapsed lung, one fracture of a lumbar bone, I finally feel like I can ride again....walk....just hang in there and let your body heal. I had a few days where I thought I was dying lol, but it is getting better :) Don't give up :) |
