Location: Never in one place long | Any tips on days or websites? I've been looking on cheaptickets.com and hotwire and they are all very expensive.... it's only 2.5 weeks out now, I usually book earlier but didn't have a choice this time. |

| I think you're too close to get a great deal now, but I heard something about flights are cheapest on Tuesdays. Not sure why. Also, if its doable - flights not leaving on Friday or returning on Sunday/Monday are usually cheaper. |

Location: Oklahoma | I have been flying Spirit (only economical if you're not bringing a lot of luggage and don't care where you sit) and they have a pretty neat little calendar that lets you see what the price difference will be for flights on different days.
ETA: I've also read somewhere that if you delete your cookies and browser history you might find cheaper flights since they don't know that you've already been looking... but I don't know how accurate that is.

Location: OREGON | agree. Tuesday evenings are the cheapest. I usually use Travelocity. But, not all airlines are on there. So it will depend on your preference, if any. |

Location: kansas | Personally I start with the airport I am flying out of and see my options for direct flights, or I have been known to drive an hour or two to get to an airport with a direct flight option to where I am trying to get too. Case in point, I live in western Oklahoma, but there is a direct flight out of Tulsa to Orlando, so I can save almost 300 PER PERSON and have a direct flight out of Tulsa on Alligiant versus flying out of OKC where I will pay more and have to deal with layovers.
If there aren't any direct flights, I like to see the cheaper airlines (even Southwest) that may not come up on Orbitz, Expedia, etc.
And then if all else fails I go to Orbitz, or Expedia and see what options they have.
