Cash requires oversized everything and reins are no exception. I can barely reach regular 8' reins with one hand and my arm stretched all the way out. We've been getting by with split reins which are still to short by split rein standards. They're ok for slow work but kind of a pain. I need some thick, nice leather barrel reins that are at least 10' long. Do these exist anywhere?

Call a good leather worker and place an order. Facebook is a good start. Till then you can grab some yatch rope from home depot and some snaps and clamps and improvise .

Here's a temporary solution until you can get some nice ones.

I'll check out the rein man. I don't know of any other leather workers.

Interstate Western works could probably help you out. West of Mandan 5 miles or so

My Dad's been a saddle maker for ages and he makes great reins. Yesterday he and I picked out a side just to make reins with - it's thick but soft.
If you don't find what you are looking for, PM me and we can probably make you exactly what you want.
