Has anyone used them with a bar shoe? I need to cut the frog down to make it fit the shoe right now. I'm scared to do this. That's a lot of money to mess this boot up. My mare will be in a bar shoe until her hoot grows back out. So I have to different sizes for her to try and wear now.

I have a pair for my filly that I love. But in a special case like this I would call the manufacturer and see. They have several different types of inserts and you may just need a different type. I know they have some special ones for navicular horses and foundered horses. I'd just call and ask.

I was told by the manufacturer to cut the frog support out into the area of the shoe so that it would fit properly

I use the same soft ride that she normally wears. Only make sure it's not bent over or not fitting correct. They do wear our sooner but I love mine and I have the whole circle and wedgas too. Good luck and Duck Tape really helps if a strap gets week. ????

I'm recently in the same situation! Just to clarify, what shouldn't be bent over? When I tried them on for the first time the other day, and they seemed to fit. I'll post pics when I can, can you post pics, too? Just want to make sure I'm seeing things right :

I had to do the same thing for my horse. Afterwards I just bought new inserts for the boots. I now have one set with frog and another without.

I cut out the outside edge of the frog support to allow for the KN round shoes. I haven't had any problem. they are 2 yrs old.

We have cut the frog down for a horse with pads on. They worked fine!

I had to buy 6L to fit the bar shoe that she will only be wearing until the foot grows out. Cut the frog out and it fits. A lot of money for a short time to wear. But its done now.

Can you guys post pics of the cut out for me, please? I'm nervous to do this and want to make sure I get it right the first time... Thanks in advance!
