Regular Posts: 69 Location: La	I am looking at buying some soft rides for our horse that will go to college with my daughter. He will have to spend extended time in his stall while he is there vs being at home and turned out in the pasture except at feeding time. I see lots get only the 2 for the front, what is the reason behind this? I'm worried that by getting only the front two, he would be at an unnatural angle with his front shoulders up higher than his back. Almost like he was always standing uphill. I would love to know your thoughts on this. We have an older mare that actually ended up with a torn hind suspensory due to angles on her front end not being correct during the shoeing process that took place over a year. We didn't know how bad it was until xrays were done to see why she wasn't clocking anymore but the strain had already been placed on the suspensory at this time. All opinions welcome and greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Shelter Dog Lover Posts: 10277	When stalled at 3 day shows I put them on all 4. Interesting your thoughts on front angles affecting hind suspensory. I have an 18 year old gelding that has had tears on both hind legs. About a year ago I had him xray his feet and his angels were off on the front and put wedges on him to correct that. I am going to have to ask my vet, it makes sense to me.

Maine-iac Posts: 3334 Location: Got Lobsta?	I LOVE them! (horses do too!) I have all 4 on any time he is placed in the trailer and any foot issues going on he has them on. He lost a shoe and I placed one on until the farrier arrived. Its well worth the money! I had my farrier do the measurements so there wouldn't be any mistakes.

It's not my fault I'm perfect Posts: 13739 Location: Where the long tails flow, ND	I love mine, use them for long hauls or less than ideal parking situations at barrel races. I know lots of people have only the fronts due to cost, and probably because they are not dealing with any previous injuries? The front carries the most weight, and if you are not dealing with any issues I don't think they would be an issue. ETA: I've also used mine for hot nails, abscesses, shoe loss, hoof cracks, etc. they are wonderful to have on hand. Edited by SmokinGirlie 2015-08-28 10:35 AM
