 Don't Wanna Make This Awkward

Location: Texas | What am I missing that I need to add/think about.
I have to come up with a layout on selling a horse for the person that is going to ride, care for, and promote said horse vs. owner responsibilities.
-Owner pays all entry fee's -Winnings split 50/50 -Owner either reimburses for or provides all feed/supplements/medication -Insurance in Owners name(Question this, can the rider be added to the insurance or will it not matter as long as horse is insured? Not sure if horse should be under owner or rider name)
Then should I expect to pay board? This will be someone's personal barn so im not sure on a price if I do.
Then comission.. This is not someone that does this for a living or sells horses for the public hence the reason i'm putting all this together. I think 10% is a pretty normal comission, is offering 8% a slap in the face? Since this isn't someone known for this im not sure I need to pay what I would for a professional.
Please be honest if I am being fair or unfair. I fully believe in this person and by no means want to be cheap.
I'm thinking maybe a $200/month miscellaneous fee for gas to haul him to an arena for people try and for ads |

 Own It and Move On
Location: The edge of no where | Just trying to make sure I understand this.....you're wanting them to ride him for free and you're considering pay less than standard commission? I understand paying for feed, etc so it doesn't cost them to keep him....but there is still all the time involved of riding/grooming/hauling etc. |

Location: Oklahoma | The agreement I recently had was rider did all the riding and care; I paid feed, medication, etc. I didn't pay entry fees unless I specifically asked her to enter a certain race. She paid ef's and kept all her winnings. I paid her 10% commission when they sold. |

| I would be more specific
On winnings, are you splitting 50/50 before or after entry fees are taken out?
The 200 for hauling, what happens if they don't haul?
I would be speaking with horse brokers and see what is included in the commission, and what is extra? As hauling to and from arenas for people to try, I believe is in the commission.
As for insurance, I would be speaking to my insurance broker and asking them if the horse is covered under the current policy if the horse is under care of a non owner
