| I've currently got 4 horses that are turned out on pasture 24/7 grass is not great and it's getting very scarce. Going to be putting out a roundbale this weekend for them. I don't have stalls yet so everyone has to eat together out there. I feed them in separate pans spread out and it's going ok. The alphas probably get a bit more here n there. I'd say they are all pretty medium keepers .. not easy but not too difficult. They range in age .. 16,15,7,and my yearling. I've been researching for a feed I can feed all of them. Because they are turned out. As of right now I'm feeding everyone Purina active sr feed. I'd like to stick to the softer type feeds and they seem to like this. Was just wondering if it's enough nutrition for my yearling? Since no one is being used hard right now I'm just feeding them grain once a day. They seem to be maintaining pretty well like this. I personally liked the ultium a bit better than this sr feed as far as the softness and consistency but I'm not sure if it'd work for my yearling.. my barn is probably 2 -3 months away from being built then I can customize feeding better for them individually. |

Location: Got Lobsta? | I feed Renew Gold. I started my weanling on it and she's two now. All my horses are on it, 2, 13, 25, 26, and 31. All get the same amount of RG, 1/2 pound twice a day. The 31 year old gets an extra 1lb of Rice Bran because he has severe Cushings. RG makes it easy! |

I do have access to renew gold at my feed store. I'm leaning towards giving it a shot. Is that all you feed? Along with hay.. I don't have any good resource for alfalfa close by so I'll be feeding a coastal round bale. |

I feed Renew Gold as well. I feed it with alfalfa hay and grass hay and am pleased with the results. Even when my horse is filthy he still shines. I don't plan on switching. |

I do like the active senior. I bought a few more bags and I was disappointed that the bags were like concrete blocks! I literally had to chisel to get it into my feed bins. I asked the boy loading the feed for me if all the bags were like that. He said on their last shipment, yes they were all like that. He said sometimes they are sometimes they aren't. Not sure why... it's been very very hot ... not freezing! |

Location: Got Lobsta? | Yes that is all we feed and frankly I thought I was going to starve my horses, but that was not the case. We only have Timothy hay up here - round bales during the day and a few flakes at night. One horse gets 1 flake per day of Alfafa I get at TS to help with ulcer issues. My feed bill went down |

| We feed oats with alfalfa pellets/essential K 50/50 mix plus free range baled alfalfa (we mix grass hay in for the non-performance horses for less calorie intake). It made the skinny thoroughbred fill out a lot better. |
