Thank you!
I am so ready for both of them to come home.... he is starting to be a little turd.... the other day he took out both the stiches that hold the lavage in place.... so they put them back in, then the next morning he broke the line half way up his neck.....they had to shorten it in order not to have to put in a new one...
Luckily he is getting easier to handle.... Hopefully we can pick them up this week!!
Will update later.
Thanks for all the good thoughts and prayers for him.
Did "Turd" get to come home yet?!!
Not yet.
They are still fighting the abcess. The vet is afraid that the moment they send him home it will blow, and I really don't want to turn around a bring him back..... Unfortunatly it can take weeks sometimes months before that gets better. It is tiny though, so hopefully it will clear up with the meds.
She said they are going to look at it again today, and see how it goes.
On a positive note, he is getting more and more halter broke....

Barrelracingroper12 - 2015-09-17 1:42 PM I have been there & done that!! my 1D barrel horse got an ulcer on the cornea like 1 month after i got him.... then it got fungal.... a wonderful 3 months in a stall with and SPL port, 6 medications 4 times a day, weekly trips the the vet school to see the opthomologist & pulling most of my hair out... BUT here he is 1 year later and hes back 110%. Has a slight scar on the eye, but it has cleared up drastically... I now know more about eye balls than i EVER wanted to. Ulcers are either gone in a few weeks Or they are a mess.
Yea, I hear that it can take a long time for them to heal. And there is a lot of doctoring involved.... Which I can't do, I leave for work at 5.30am and don't get back till 4pm.... so my only option is to have them at the vet for now.
Glad to hear your boy is healed up!

Yes, they are home!!! Picked them up earlier. The vet told me the abscess is less than 2 mm, and there is nothing more they can do with the meds! So now he is back, and I will keep a close eye on him, but he is home!!
Thanks everybody for the positive thinking!!
