Location: Southeast Louisiana | I need to order a couple of ice boots overnight. Naturally, I waited until I needed one to do this so, I don't really have time to research product reviews because I'm cold hosing and getting ready for work. Can anybody suggest a good brand? I was looking at the pro choice ice cells, but I don't know if they will stay cold very long? |

| We have a set of no name brands, and they are awesome. haha Plus they were only $10, if I could remember where got them, I would buy a barn full of them. |

| I don't, they are just red plastic with ice cells and three velcro straps. Nothing identifying to them. They stay cold for over an hour (that's the longest we have used them), and are going on 8 years old now. |

I have a Tough One brand that is red with straps
Mine doesn't have a brand on them, so I couldn't tell you if they are the same or not. I looked them up and they look similar, but they are more expensive than ours were (could be the time difference too though). |

| I ice all the time I like to ice after riding each day if possible and I have ice vibes and another set I cant think of the name now- but honestly I went to Walmart bought the $2 ice sheets about 10x5 look like little ice cubes and I place them inside my back on tracks - it works just as great as my expensive stuff and they are always cold after 30-45 mins legs are cold - I will probably never buy the high $ ice stuff again!  |

The brand is JT, they also come in blue
Cheapest I found them was on amazon
Edited to add mine are ancient and still have the jt tag on them, but thinking tough one bought them out as the tough one looks identical

Location: Bandera, TX | My favorite are the Professional Choice. I think I've tried every type of ice boot and tub made. The Profession Choice stay cold the longest and give my horses the best coverage. If I have an issue I go to the Game ready for the compression benefits. You can always put a compression sock on for that however. |

Location: Gainesville, TX | I've got professional's choice. They are pretty nice but my filly dislikes them because they are so heavy. We had a cheaper version but they wouldn't stay up. Looking at getting some less heavy ice vibes too but they are super pricy. And you really shouldn't be icing for more than 20-30 min (and usually 20). You've gone past the therapeutic length at that point and may actually do some damage to blood vessels and CAUSE inflammation from shutting off bloodflow for too long. I only care HOW LONG they stay cold if I have to ice multiple horses. |

There are times that you want to leave them on for a flush and thats why I love the PC brand. I can get the override on the nervous system and get those vessels to really open up and flush the extremity.
Your so right in the ability of the PC boot to be able to ice several horses. If found that I love the crushed ice in my boots. If you don't put a lot of ice in the center rear top panel they stay on really good. Especially if your only doing a standard 20 min ice treatment. If it wasn't for the feet I would use the ice boots all the time instead of the Game Ready because they cool so well. I'm not a fan of my ice vibes...Because I ride so many colts I have the JT brand sponge cell boots and thats the easiest to put on them. |

Could be... Mine only has 3 straps not 4 though. They just don't make things like the used to is the sad part. |

The ice vibes are **** pricy but she needs something less bulky and the vibration without ice can warm up joints without overheating before you ride. Love multipurpose therapies.

Love that you posted the time length----just read an article in Equus magazine yesterday about the benefits of icing and they said the exact same thing. |

Pro choice cells stay cold a long time. You should only be doing 15-20 min of icing. I have both those abs a game ready. Love the game ready. |
