I'm no authority on PSSM, but I have a mare that has it and she is doing excellent since I've changed her diet.

Choose the lowest starch feed and lowest sugar you can find.  No corn, no fillers.  High fat is OK.  According to the vets I'm using, Timothy hay is best, then Alfalfa, Orchard, but coastal has too much sugar, so use coastal sparingly.   PSSM horses do best with daily excercise.

There are PSSM facebook pages that are very helpful.

Common Sense and then some

PSSM1?
Low NSC - Low sugar/low starch.  Try to stay 12% or under
Natural Vitamin E (not synthetic)  you'll have to play with this 5000-10,000 IU daily
Some use oil, some use ALCAR, some use oil + LCAR
Some horses cannot tolerate pasture if the sugar content in grass is high.
Some use Magnesium oxide or some perfer di-magnesium malate

Some type of daily exercise is best.

There is PSSM1 (genetic, easy hair test), PSSM2, RER, MFM (these require a biopsy) - each is managed somewhat differently feed wise.

Join the FB page for PSSM, you'll learn tons and learn to apply what works for your horse.  Remember each horse is different, so you need to tweak the "recipe" that works best for your horse in your area of the country. Be careful on adding too many supplements at once, take it one at time and see what works.  Good luck!
