I know getting cooled semen makes it more complicated to register a foal. And if you were to do a an embryo transfer that's even more complicated! Just curious how you go about getting the proof? Pulling some hair? Lol idk.

So these so called trainers think the horse actually thinks "wow Im not getting water because I dont like to be tied"
and  a 2 yr old?? their attention span isnt that long.. I dont care if these trainers are top notch.. its absurd.. IMHO
they want the horse to be ok  being tied yet punish it tied..i really dont think the horses realize its not eating or getting water because it has a issue.. they dont think that way. But I can tell you one thing their gut knows and you are flirting with danger withholding water and horses are grazers and to not allow anything in their gut  for 3 days could lead to a major issue..

This is an incredibly dumb "training" method to suggest to someone.

I've heard a similar thing also. My 6 year old mare can be hot headed and a family friend said to tie her up for a day r so, but have a bucket of fresh water. I've never done it. I'm not going to risk her freaking out and having to pay a huge vet bill PLUS make the problem worse. There are other affective ways to go about IMO.

Also, this post might help you. Some good tips on horses pulling back.

I wouldn't panic about a 2 year old not standing tied well.  They are young with a short attention span.

To answer your second question - no, registering horses that were concieved via embryo or cooled shipped semen is not difficult or complicated. You just submit a sample of their mane or tail hair for parentage verification.
