Haven't bought one that has run before. Wondering what to ask and look for. Thanks

I'm glad you modified the topic... I SO wanted to start a discussion about what questions to ask an OTT horse before you bought it.

I like to look up who the trainer was and watch past races if possible.  The trainer is a big deal to me, as it will tell you how a horse was handled at the race track and maybe even what medications, etc. they ran on.  As always, for big money, vet check.

i have a friend who screens them for me and honestly i don't really ask many questions.. I buy a lot based off of salvage value so if they don't pan out they are worth something. If they are cheap enough I don't vet check either. But I'm just risky like that.

I will add to the VET CHECK list by saying TAKE YOUR OWN VET IF POSSIBLE. SOme track vets are just as crooked as trainers. Something " Over looked" on xray by " Accident" might come back and haunt you later.

Do your research and know who ran the horse on the track!
