How long did it take you to lose your baby weight? I know everyone says "it takes 9 months to put it on, it will take 9 months to get it off" but I hate waiting lol.

I've held onto at least 15# with each baby until I stopped nursing them...Then I lost it easily.  My twins are almost 18 months old and I'm 10# lighter than I was when I got pregnant with them.  I lost the lingering "baby weight" within a couple of months after I stopped nursing them and have continued to lose. Your metabolism is just different when you're nursing.  Some people lose weight very quickly, and some like me just hold onto it for feeding the baby.

Some people hold onto extra weight while nursing, some don't. I was one who didn't, I lost it all plus extra, but my sister couldn't lose the last 10 pounds until she weaned.

I just weaned my fourth baby.
When I was 18 and I nursed for three months it came right off.
When I was 24 and I nursed for nine months it came right off except the last 8 or so pounds that left quickly after weaning.
When I was 30 and I nursed for a year it came right off except for the last 6 or so pounds. I was training and competing in distance running so I was thinner.
When I was 35 and I nursed for a year all but 10 pounds came off. I just weaned her so Im hoping for the same results.
A lot of the weight is boobs. I go from 32D to 32G (find THAT in a store). A little of it is just subcutaneous stores.

Good luck! It all goes away eventually if you work a little. Age, diet, activity level, and body type have a lot to do with it. I gained exactly 50 pounds with each pregnancy.

Glad to hear I'm not alone! My daughter is almost 5 months old and I'm hoping to wean her when she is 1 year old or a little before. I only gained 35lbs with her so I'm just surprised all but 15lbs hasn't come off. I've been eating healthy, taking her out on hilly walks with the stroller, been doing core exercises and doing different things but nothing seemed to make the weight budge!! It's been difficult for me dealing with this because before I became pregnant I was fairly fit and could do basically anything! Now I'm just try to accept that this is going to take time. In the first few weeks she was born I lost weight so quickly I thought I'd be back in my prepregnancy clothes in no time but then I plateaued. I have another friend though who's daughter is just now 1 year old and she said she lost her extra weight when she started weaning, so I'm glad to hear other stories like mine!!

I'm still about 15lbs over my pre pregnancy weight. But I did loose about 40 lbs after I had her in the first few months. Honestly I'm not concerned with loosing weight. Just feeding my baby girl is my main concern. I do try and make healthy choices though and drink alotttt of water.

My son is 9 months and I still have 15# to go...but I had 15# to lose to be the ideal weight BEFORE I got pregnant, so I guess I have lost it all? I think my problem is our office, not my baby. Its hard to resist tacos, bagels, donuts, candy, staff appreciation lunches, food from meetings with cliesnts, etc. And of course my office is right next to the food. LOL

Nursed my son 4 months and I was pre pregnancy weight at about 9 months...... My daughter is 20 month (she nurses once a day). My baby weight was gone in about 5 months after her birth I am about 105 pounds on average. Everyone is different!! I never thought I would still be nursing at 20 months... Thinking it would be a little weird.... Well never say never.

I'm 30 yrs old and gained 50# with my pregnancy. The first 30# came off super fast but then it slowed down. My son was close to 4-5 months before I could get back into most of my pre-pregnancy clothes. I finally lost all the weight at about 7-8 months. My son is now close to 9 months, still nursing, and I'm a couple pounds less than when I got pregnant.
