I think he's about 10. Sound for light riding only. He is buddy sour. Will NEVER run barrels. Gelding. Louisiana. Yellow.

It doesn't sound like a question. More like a notification that he is available.

I owned him a few years ago, and I remember him as being a total sweetheart. The current owners loaned him to someone for a child that has outgrown him or lost interest. I don't know the whole story. I'm just trying to help her find him a good forever home. He's been handed around a lot because everybody thinks they can make a barrel horse out of him, but it's not possible. He was savagely attacked by a gelding when he was just days old. The injuries were severe. I bought him off this site from a pretty well known girl that worked for Lanya Kite Kight (sp). She backed him with a buy-back promise. Yea. Right. I finally found and talked to his breeder/owner who told me the story. It's sad. She sold him with full disclosure, but THOSE owners sent him down the road, and his story was never told again. He seems fine until you really start to push him. His first ever exhibition was a lope and he would have pulled a 4D check in one of the biggest arenas around here. He would have been a natural. I lost a LOT on that deal, but I did sell him as cripple and NOT a barrel horse.

Yep. I thought there was a free horse forum, but I couldn't find it.

I asked because I have a friend that is looking for a TRUE kid's horse, and I wondered if he might fit the bill. They wouldn't be barrel racing but something trustworthy for the grandkids to ride around the house. And this might not be up her alley but I'm all for helping a horse that's down on his luck. Some people don't deserve horses. . . . The almighty dollar, the end all be all. . . .

Everyone uses the Dog Pound for horses too, hope that this horse does find a forever home soon.
