Herbie - 2015-10-13 1:02 PM Cur-OST Total Support hands down for me.  Yes, the up front cost is a bit more, but with it being the only supplement I need and being able to cut out grain completely with the exception of a half a scoop of oats once daily, it's worth it!  No synthetic vitamins, no fillers, no added sugars.

I agree with Herbie!!  I feed Cur-ost  Total support.  I don't have to give omeprazole any longer and I cut my feed bill in half.  It is a little pricey up front but it's still cheaper than supplements and a more expensive feed.  I've used Exceed 6 way, THE, Forco, etc...and I did not see results like I am seeing with Cur-ost.  I just hauled on an 8 hour trip last weekend without any problems from my gelding.  No Omeprazole!  He was a happy clam the whole time.

I third the Curost. Both of mine are on total and my arthritic horse is on Pure as well.

I top dress all my horses grain with Equipride. I don't think it is designated for joints at all, but I can speak for hoof growth and overall top line and hair coat, this works great for all of my horses.

Yes I have fed it in the past and really liked it. I fed the Dynamic Trio 50/50 which I think had everything in it. I am thinking of going back to that. I initially started feeding for a bleeder and had him on something called Bleeders Bee Free. It was quite an undertaking, but got him through and after the initial dosing he never bled again as long as I kept him on the Dynamic Trio 50/50. Their website is www.winnersbeepollen.com
I think they are out of Arizona.

I agree about CurOst . I no longer have to use Previcox or banamine or Bute. Inhave stopped all probiotics and no longer a feed through joint supplement. I feed Cur Ost total support and the Pure 3 days out through the rodeos. Just 1/4 of a scoop.

streakysox - 2015-10-12 9:31 PM I did the same thing and I changed to Platinum Performance. I used to use Platinum CJ for one horse but he is retired and the PP does have a joint product in it. I sent my two year old to get her broke and the guy just fed her the feed that I had sent. When I got her back she had been out in a pasture in the June sun . She was a cream colored Palomino. 10 days on Platinum Performance she was gold again. I have tried just about every supplement out there and have given each a fair chance like feeding six months to a year. I have had the best results with PP. After paying for a different supplement for each problem, I found that Platinum was most economical. I feed one scoop a day and the 25 lb bucket lasts me a little over two months feeding 4 horses.

I just started feeding PP - it says use 2 scoops a day and its not the loading dose.  Can I get away with one scoop per day on a performance horse?

Cur OST.

Stopped all my other supplements/allergy shots, stopped processed feeds. Way cheaper in the long run without having to add random things here and there and buying expensive feed.

Yes - I feed a maintenance dose of 1 scoop per day to everything.
Basic training and legging up, they get 2 scoops a day.
When on long hauls and big shows, I will feed up to 3-4 scoops per horse per day depending on the desired "pep" I'd like and how stressful the situation.

I feed Total Control Plus by Finish Line...I have two horses and find it works very well and its very cost effective! One bucket last a couple months with 1 scoop per horse. $80-300 depending on the bucket size.

How does Total Contro PLUS promote healthy blood counts? Appropriately high levels of iron and many B-vitamins, along with copper, cobalt, and other ingredients, are known to be, “an aid in preventing iron deficiency anemia.” Finish Line®’s Iron Power® has all of the same active ingredients.
How does Total Control® PLUS promote healthy hooves, hair and skin? 15mg of Biotin, a wide variety of Amino Acids including 130 mg Methionine, Omega 3 and 6, Fatty Acids (from quality sources like olive oil, wheat germ oil and flax seed) and other ingredients are the cornerstone of Finish Line®’s Feet First®’s success in promoting healthy hooves, hair and skin.
How does Total Control® PLUS promote healthy digestion? Just like U-7™, Total Control® PLUS is not an antacid. It does not inhibit stomach acid production. Instead, a combination of herbal components such as Slippery elm Licorice, Cinnamon, Cabbage, Aloe Vera, along with Zinc and several vitamins promote healthy digestion and reduce ulcers. U-7™ Gastric Aid was studied by Dr. Scott McClure.
How does Total Control® PLUS promote healthy hydration? Finish Line®’s Apple-A-Day™ is one of the Equine Industry’s favorite electrolyte feed supplements, which has effectively supplied macrominerals like sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, chloride, iron, and trace minerals like manganese, copper, cobalt, and zinc to horses for over 20 years. Total Control® contains the same levels of salts, maintaining the same ratios of these important supplements. This product will stimulate your horse’s thirst, promoting healthy hydration.
How does Total Control® PLUS promote healthy joints and bone? 5000mg Glucosamine, 2000mg MSM, 100 mg Sodium Hyaluronate, 1000mg Vitamin C and B-complex, along with herbals including Yucca, Boswellia all contribute to the promotion of healthy joints and bones.
How does Total Control® PLUS promote healthy strong capillaries? XBL® Ultra ingredients such as 400 mg Hesperidin, Rutin, Vitamin K and other vitamins and proteins promote healthy capillary strength for horses prone to EIPH.

Barrel racer friend & horse friend, what supplements do you use? Looking for something for joints, digestion, hoof, ect. Have been feeding a hoof supplement, a joint supplement, & a digestive supplement, but I've decided that's entirely to much trouble & expensive.
I am feeding it to an era of horses; a 6 year old barrel horse, a 12 year old barrel horse, a 15 year old all around horse, & a 26 year old barrel horse.
How much do you pay, how much is in the package and how long does it last?

I used to feed Platinum, but it got to expensive for me. 4 horses to feed adds up quickly.

A team roper, Brandon Beers (very good, NFR qualifier, 2 of his horses have won horse of the year for the PRCA) got me hooked on Trifecta. I didn't want to type it all out, so I grabbed this from their website. http://www.horseguard.com/product/trifecta/

Trifecta is a 4-in-1 horse supplement featuring:

The premier vitamin-mineral package on the market today providing 3 mg of organic selenium and other vitamins & trace minerals typically missing from hay.
A powerful joint supplement providing 5000 mg. of MSM, 5000 mg of Glucosamine and 100 mg of Hyaluronic Acid per dose.
A complete hoof & hair supplement featuring 32 mg of Biotin, 400 mg of Zinc and 5000 mg of Methionine per dose.
A huge probiotic, prebiotic and live yeast supplement providing 2 million beneficial bacteria and 5 billion live yeast per dose to support your horse in having a stable digestive track.

Since doing the research and my own knowledge and experience, this is the most dynamic and comprehensive product I've found. I have fed it for over 5 years now and love it. It cost about $2.30 a day to feed.

Recently the company has came out with a feed version of the supplement called Simplete high Performance. I am in love all over! I only have to feed 2 lbs a day and get all the benefits I mentioned above plus energy.

Good luck!

For joints, Hyalun Pro. The purest form of Hyaluronic acid on the market. I've seen it price provide dramatic results for multiple horses.

For digestion, Diamond V yeast.

Most of these mentioned are not what I would call budget friendly. I would love to give Platinum CJ a try, as well as the Cur-Ost that so many are having success with. But there is no way I could afford it and still be able to haul a little bit. Yes, I want my horses to feel and look their best, but it's not going to do me any good if I can't even afford to haul down the road. General maintenance of vet exams, dental work, hay, grain, chiro, etc. is expensive enough. I can not justify feeding $4-$5 a day in supplements alone to 2 or 3 horses at this point in my life. I applaud those who can!

THE is very bank account friendly. Not many supplememts that you can feed for less than a $1 a day SHIPPED that also has a money back guarantee if you do not see what you want to see. Muscle Mass starts at $65 for 80 scoops (days worth) of the plain mix and shipping is $6. You can add special blends at $5 each for up to 4. Performance Formula starts at $55 for the plain. It has all the same vitamins/minerals/amino acids etc but lacks the muscle building ingredients. Great for easy keepers or horses that carry weight just how you want already.

I feed the PP at one scoop a day, which roughly works out to $2.45 a day.. I don't consider that enough to make a most people go into the poor house.
