Found out in July my 10 yr old app has one largish bone spur in his front right and a couple real small ones in the front left. After finding the best vet in the area after trying 5 different ones that couldn't figure his issues out, injecting, shoeing changes and A LOT of time waiting, I have been finally cleared to start riding him again.
This last year with him has been so tough watching him hurt day in and day out and being told that is just it and that's how he's going to be I'm literally ready to jump out of my chair to just throw a leg over him!

I'm curious since I've been off of him for so long how long I should be just walking him, how short I should keep my rides etc? I know others have been through so many injuries I'm curious as to how I should approach.

I will tell you this, regardless of how long you decide to walk, ect... NEVER and I repeat NEVER trot this horse.  He already has issues and trotting is the hardest gait on the horses body, especially the front end.   JMO
